Abstract impressionist landscape painting.
Colour and nature are at the heart of all my artwork. I live in rural Kent, south-east England and am inspired every day by the world around me.
This painting is inspired by the splendour of a fiery, sunny autumn afternoon, with sun shining through bright autumn leaves and grasses, and is the third in the series. The first is Anticipating Autumn. Something about early autumn days, still warm and full of bright colour, is very beautiful, and very fleeting.
I use top quality Golden acrylics, and spends time layering the canvas with many shades of paint, flicking, using a palette knife, brushes rags and allowing paint to drip down the canvas in order to create a rich textured paint surface.
This 75x100cm canvas is unframed. It has white painted edges and is strung with picture cord ready to hang.
