Colours and inspiration from the natural world uplift me. At this time of year, springtime is uppermost in my mind. This painting reminds me of early spring, early evening walks with a chill in the air and the sun just about to set over the water. So many of my paintings are rooted in the wild Pembrokeshire coast, it has a beauty and natural appeal which I cannot quantify, but which I have a long held connection to. I think many of us have strong and meaningful connections to the natural world - spending time in beautiful places gives so much joy!

I use beautiful quality acrylic paints, mostly Golden acrylic, and Lascaux, and a large variety of brushes and palette knives, to drip, wash, smudge and paint the surface of the canvas, to create a rich and varied painting.
